Creating a Learn to Learn schoolThere are 2 fundamental goals from this course- Give the leadership team an extremely clear understanding of brain friendly learning, and become aware of the key levers at their disposal to embed it throughout the school
- Give the leadership team the ability to contextualise decisions, statements and actions alongside the overall vision for the school in a brain friendly manner.
It is vital that as part of any change process, the environment in which change is taking place is optimal for all learners. It is essential that the physical space supports the change programme and acts as a positive catalyst to change. The leadership team’s responsibility for creating environmental change within the school, ahead of any teacher training programme, cannot be overestimated. The very act of positive environmental change will support the learning that follows. Participants will learn how to:- Current understanding of brain functionality, and how language, written word and reading impact the brain
- Use of brain friendly learning tools, including mind mapping as part of creating a learn to learn environment
- Brain Principles. What do we know about brain functionality, skills and capacity and how does this knowledge help the creation of an optimal environment for learning.
- Accelerated Learning – how to set up the school to engage all learners in a fun, inspiring and easy manner
- Most importantly, how to lead the process of creating a learn to learn school from within. What are the key levers available to the leadership team in creating a learn to learn school?
