Navigating Change

The one thing that is constant...is change.
The successful implementation of organisational change is a complex and challenging process. The UK education system has for too long relied upon process, structure and competence to deliver this change. Just as important to successful change, are emotional and attitudinal elements, and an awareness, recognition and control of all these factors will be one of the greatest determinants of success.
Every individual becomes a potential catalyst for change.
By identifying the role of the individual in the process, focusing on their own change project responsibilities, breaking down the stepping stones (Means Goals) and providing them with an armoury of EQ strategies, the task becomes eminently manageable.

 Participants will learn how to:

  • Identify the ‘waves of change’ that have already occurred at a global, professional and personal level, thereby helping to contextualise their own outcomes
  • Use mental creativity to create a personal vision and desired outcome, and use determination to take the first steps towards that vision
  • (Through pre-course work and case studies), plot their own progress on the change curve, and gain an understanding of the stages yet to be negotiated
  • Understand the triggers of pain and pleasure for success
  • Clarify the boundaries of Comfort Zones in order to stimulate and encourage a resourceful mindset towards effective change
  • Investigate the different models that can be used to engage all learners in the change process
  • Set organisational, group and individual goals for change delivery
  • Prepare, in the case of leaders, their “change journey” from “burning platform” arguments through the “means goals” to the “end vision”
  • ·     Use metaphors to anchor, apply and retain all these tools for change.
