LEADERSHIP PROGRAMME
 Leading Self

All leadership starts with being able to lead oneself. Great leaders of people - the leaders whom people want to follow - are great leaders because they understand themselves and are able to engage themselves, choose their emotions and are aware of how their thoughts affect their mood, in the words of Daniel Goleman, they are "Emotionally Intelligent". If we understand how to lead ourselves we are much more likely to be able to lead other people - we would argue that it is hard to be a great leader of others if you can't lead yourself.

Leading Self - Level 1

By the end of this programme, attendees will:
  • Have been introduced to the idea of Emotional Intelligence
  • Be able to state the difference between emotions that are helpful vs those that are unhelpful
  • Have learned that emotions are within our control - we can choose our emotions
  • Be able to use tools and techniques learned on the programme to help choose emotions that are helpful and achieve a win-win
  • Be able to apply what they have learned to be better leaders of themselves and others
Leading Self - Level 2

By the end of this programme, attendees will:
  • Have learned that our thoughts create our emotions
  • Be able to state the difference between thoughts which empower us vs those that dis-empower us
  • Have learned that thoughts and emotions are contextual - some thoughts that are dis-empowering in one context may be empowering in other contexts
  • Be able to use tools and techniques learned on the programme to help reframe thoughts that may be dis-empowering
  • Be able to state the importance of creating a personal vision
  • Have learned about the importance of having an empowering vision of oneself
  • Be able to apply what they have learned to be better leaders of themselves and others
